Diabetes but No Health Insurance - More Money-Saving Tips

Well, if you do not have any health insurance, you need to ensure that you stay healthy, because no one is going to pay your bills but you. You can’t afford to sit around hoping that the symptoms will simply vanish into thin air. You also need to save as much money as possible, because at some point you are going to need some medical care and it could be substantial and expensive. Hence, keep the following tips in mind:

1. Ask For Samples:
Though this strategy may not last for long or may not work everywhere, you can get free samples of certain medicines for a few days.

2. Ask For A Discount:
Even if you are not diabetic, ask the drugstore to give you a discount. The health insurance companies pay just a part of the doctor’s fee as a network agreement between them. If the insurers give you a discount of $50 for $75, then the doctor might charge you $50.

3. Shop around for doctors:
So you think that all the doctors have the same rate? Well, that’s not true. Hence, it is important that you look around before going to a doctor. Independent and small doctors have a lower fee.

4. Do some research:
Go online and look around for good doctors not thinking about whether you will be able to afford it or not.

5. Use The Free Resources:
There are many free clinics and low priced clinics which offer good services. Search for them and pay a visit and you may be pleasantly surprised.

There are many ways to save money on medication and medical care, so don’t settle for one price or option and keep looking. And just because you are diabetic doesn’t mean that your disease has to burn a large hole in your pocket! You can have it your way!
